Chicaco Toya / Artist・illustrator
Chicaco Toya is a Japanese artist based in Tokyo, originally from Kyoto.
She explores the themes of KAWAII with inner strength and harmony beyond boundaries, creating poetic worlds where people and animals, reality and fantasy coexist. Inspired by her deep affection for animals, she incorporates auspicious Japanese motifs such as maneki-neko (beckoning cats) and four-leaf clovers, expressing stories of hope and good fortune through vibrant colors.
Influenced by the landscapes and culture of Bangkok, where she spent part of her childhood, her work blends Japanese aesthetics with an international perspective.
She has collaborated with companies on creative projects and produced artwork for advertising and publishing, while exhibiting her work in Japan and internationally. Her major series include Loving Masterpiece and MANEKI MANEKO.
