The exhibition “From Echo to Voice” at Kyoto Tsutaya Books has successfully come to an end.
Inspired by cultural memories—like masterpieces and lucky motifs—I created this body of work as an “echo” I received, transformed into my own “voice.”
Though I felt nervous and have reflections, I’m truly grateful to everyone who visited, supported, and collected my work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Meeting you all and talking in front of the artworks was the most joyful and energizing part. I hope we can meet again somewhere soon.
I’ll continue nurturing my Manekimaneko series, and hope to expand it further, including through products. As for the Loving Masterpiece series, I aim to continue it—and eventually compile it into a book.
While my future exhibition plans are still uncertain, I want to keep building on what I’ve created and take new steps, meeting new people along the way.
Chicaco Toya Exhibition “From Echo to Voice” 📅 Feb 7 (Sat) – Mar 8 (Sun), 2026 📍 Kyoto Tsutaya Books | 5F Art Wall
About the Exhibition This exhibition presents the world of artist and illustrator Chicaco Toya, known for her distinctive style—vivid colors layered with a lingering sense of charm and warmth.
Titled “From Echo to Voice,” this exhibition features new works from the “Loving Masterpiece” series, inspired by animals × Western masterpieces, along with new auspicious works such as Maneki-neko.
The title reflects the idea of receiving the enduring echoes of Western classical paintings and traditional symbols of good fortune—motifs that resonate across time and cultures—and transforming them into Toya’s own voice. In addition to new works, recent pieces and related goods will also be available. Please enjoy this opportunity to experience her world.

THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA opened at Yamashita Pier on December 20th.
This time, a collaboration featuring goods based on Klimt’s works has been realized within my series of homage pieces to famous paintings, and they are available for purchase in the shop space.
Of the three pieces currently on display, two are new works created specifically for this exhibition, while the third is a reproduction of a previously created piece.
Since Klimt is famous for a photograph of him holding a calico cat, I unified all the works as homages to calico cats.
The shop has free entry. I would be delighted if you could come and see them.
This will be my final exhibition of the year and the first group show of 2026. I will be presenting five works themed around inviting good fortune.
For those who couldn’t visit my solo exhibition this year, I would be delighted if you could see the works at the venue.

The fair at Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore has now ended successfully. To everyone who enjoyed the world of Manekimane-ko-chan during the event period, thank you so very much. We are truly fortunate to have received such an opportunity despite being a newly created character.
We were genuinely delighted to see each and every one of you who welcomed the work into your collection, shared your impressions on social media, or reported your visit. Your voices are a tremendous source of strength for our next creations.
Regarding the capsule toys, the official online sales at Ken Elephant are now sold out, and the gachapon sales may end soon, but we hope to move forward with new developments.
We sincerely hope to continue nurturing a world featuring Manekineko-chan and new works with maneki-neko motifs—a world you’ll want to revisit. Thank you very much.
“Chicaco Toya’s Maneki Maneko fair” is currently being held in a mini corner at Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore. The world of Maneki-Maneko-chan is gradually expanding. Please come take a look! ✨

Solo exhibition “Good Luck Days” has come to a close.
Thank you so much to everyone who visited and to those who supported me through SNS.
With the wish to create art that brings happiness, I focused on lucky motifs like Lucky Cat”and also showcased my ongoing Loving Masterpiece series. I’m so grateful for the many kind messages and smiles.
It was a dream come true to exhibit at Roppongi Hills A/D Gallery. I’m especially thankful for all the wonderful encounters and support throughout the show.
Art, to me, is about sharing feeling and joy—not logic. I’ll keep creating with heart and hope to see you again at future exhibitions.
I’m always open to opportunities for exhibitions and collaborations, both in Japan and abroad. If you’re interested, please feel free to reach out.
Toya Chicaco uses animals and human as motifs, incorporating good luck poses and auspicious motifs, while mixing in elements from fairy tales, vivid colors, and slightly unrealistic concepts to create her own fantastical world.
This exhibition will feature new works that will make the viewer’s heart feel lighter and brighter. Why not discover the small blessings in everyday life depicted by Toya Chicaco?
